Shawnee Staff to Coach Tuesday's Medford Indians Youth Football Practice

Tim Gushue and the Shawnee Football coaching staff will be conducting practices for the Medford Indians youth football program on Tuesday August 12. The focus of the practices are to introduce players and parents to the basics of tackle football as coached by Shawnee and the MYAA program. This includes proper tackling techniques as promoted by USA Football and the Virtua Sports Medicine/ Philadelphia Soul program. Coach Gushue and his staff will be teaching our players through the same methods and drills as used with his high school players. The practice held at the Hartford Crossing Sports Complex at 128 Church Rd is open to the public and provides a great opportunity for parents and their children to learn how today's football is taught and played. Our snack bar will be open so come out and enjoy the nioght watching your current Indians/future Renegades learn the game the right way.

The Medford Indians football program, open to players 5-14 years old, is built on a foundation of hard work, dedication and commitment by our players, parents and coaches. The organization strives to not only create good players but great young men by teaching them important life skills they can carry with them long after they leave the program.
The organization’s success is built upon modern, progressive methods of coaching football including certification through Virtua Health Sports Medicine and USA Football. It uses methods that have changed the game and made it safer. The focus is on player safety, a focus that is unparalleled in any other local sports program.
